As the year drew to a close it was only a matter of time before the Yuletide Event returned to Deep Rock Galactic. This little event brings with it time-limited assignment missions that will reward players with matrix cores, resources, beer-crafting ingredients, and most importantly a lovely Christmas-themed cosmetic.
The Yuletide Event in Deep Rock Galactic
The Yuletide event starts on the 14th of December and will last until January 4th. As We’ve mentioned previously, the assignment board will now present players with new assignments.
These assignments end with the event so make sure not to miss out on them. They are quick to complete, however. This year’s assignment will give matrix cores as well as beer ingredients.
This year’s Cosmetic.
The assignment for last year’s Christmas cosmetics won’t give any cores, but it will give beer ingredients, so We figure it’s worth doing for players who already have all the cosmetics.
One of the cosmetics from a previous Yuletide event in Deep Rock Galactic.
Presents will now spawn in the caves of Hoxxes. When opened they will either release Swarmers or Lootbugs. However, they also have a very small chance of dropping Error cubes. Error Cubes awards players with a bonus of 4k experience points when deposited.
As such, it might be worth it to open these presents. Especially if their opening can be done in an expedient manner.
Another thing found in the caves is the Yuletide elf mob. It has the HP of a Glyphid Praetorian, but no offensive capabilities. When under attack it will simply start quickly running away.
It can run on ceilings and walls. All in all, it’s not a particularly tough opponent, and it will quickly succumb to coordinated fire from the team. Once its HP is depleted it will become
a carryable object.
Deposit it to gain a 2x Performance Pass bonus.
Yuletide event in Deep Rock Galactic conclusion
The Yuletide event presents a perfect time to jump back into Deep Rock Galactic. Those who haven’t had the time to complete the battle pass can now boost their progress for the duration of the event.
Now that Rockpox has been nerfed and can be disabled as of the Maintenance Update, the Yultide event also presents a good time to jump back for those taking a break from Season 4. Veterans of the game get a bit more content to keep them occupied. Good stuff all around. Rock and Stone, miner.
