Welcome to this short Hearthstone Elemental tribe quick minion guide. We will try to be brief here as we have already covered Hearthstone Battlegrounds meta builds and elemental comps in our guide.
This Hearthstone Battlegrounds Elemental Tribe overview is up-to-date with the latest Season 10 patch
In this article, you will find all Elemental minions explained and tips for each of them. As you all know, the usage of many minions in HS can be very situational, but we will try to cover the overall usefulness of and general guidelines for each Elemental minion.
Tavern Tier 1 Elemental Minions
Molten Rock
Molten Rock is probably the first Elemental that you will see in Bob’s Tavern. Although he is cheap, the unit is pretty much useless – the fact that it doesn’t have any kind of Divine Shield, Taunt, or Reborn combined with the stat boost of just +1 Health for each Elemental means that this unit will probably have 3/5 after few turns, and even that if you are lucky. Generally speaking, low-level elemental units in HS BG are not a good option so you should opt for another minion on this tier. However, if you manage to ramp up your elemental buffing stats with other minion, even Molten Rock can be useful later on.
Dune Dweller
Dune Dweller is generally used for cycling and should be pretty much avoided in the early stages because selling it for 1 gold isn’t a very good value. Nevertheless, later on, if you happen to start generating elementals and when you have a lot of money, Dune Dweller is a very good cycling minion.
Tavern Tier 2 Elemental Minions
Party Elemental
Although Party Elemental looks like a tempo minion, it really is not. Giving +2/+1 for every Elemental played is something that can be beneficial, but only to a certain degree; this should not be your main stat boost. If you are opting for a full Hearthstone Elemental build, you should focus on getting other key minions, not buffing up random low-level ones.
Sellemental
Sellemental is one of those minions that has huge versatility in terms of usage – it can be an economy minion but you can use it as a tempo minion once you get Unleashed Mana Surge. Standing at 3/3, this Elemental Minion in Hearthstone Battlegrounds is pretty useful and is a good option to go for early on.
Crackling Cyclone
Since Crackling Cyclone is one of the rare Elementals with Divine Shield ability, this minion can be used early on as a tempo minion and later if you can buff it up somehow (or buy it already buffed from the Tavern). There are no tips for this one as he is one of the most straightforward minions – you just need to buff him up somehow.
Land Lubber
It wouldn’t be a new season of HS Battlegrounds if Land Lubber wasn’t reworked at least once. Now, he is Tavern Tier 2 – and he is a pretty useful minion to get early on as you can get some neat spells.
Technical Element
The main use of Technical Element is in later stages of the game, if you are playing a comp that buffs your Elementals in the Tavern. Simply buy him buffed up and put it on your strongest Divine Shield minion. Without the buffs, he is just useless, even in mech builds in Hearthstone Battlegrounds.
Tavern Tier 3 Elemental Minions
Sand Swirler
Sand Swirler is one of the key minions if you are playing the stat-buffing Elementals, as he is the only one that gives defense. You simply have to play him a few times, ideally paired with Brann in order to improve the defenses that your minions give.
Bountiful Bedrock
Bountiful Bedrock is more of an economy minion than an Elemental one. There are several Elemental minions that can give useful Battlecry abilities and Bountiful Bedrock is a good minion to have if you have space on board in order to get those more useful minions. He is very good, especially if you have a few of them on the board.
Wildfire Elemental
Wildfire Elemental is the only source of some sort of Cleave in the Elemental tribe in HS Battlegrounds, and that’s why he is a must-have later on. Generally speaking, you will need a lot of space and sustain while you buff up your Elementals, so you don’t need to get him early on – but later, you will need Wildfire Elemental on the left-most position as your main offensive power, especially if you can triple him with Elemental of Surprise.
Felemental
Elemental isn’t really that powerful since he doesn’t have a lot of stats, and you don’t really get too much from his Battlecry. Nevertheless, he is fine if you have, for example, a Brann and you’re cycling Elementals for those extra Tavern stats.
Tavern Tier 4 Elemental Minions
Glowing Cinder
Sand Swirler increases Defensive buffs with Battlecry, and Glowing Cinder improves Attack with Deathrattle. As you can see, these two are pretty important to have if you are running that kind of build. The problem is that you don’t really have other Deathrattle minions to pair Glowing Cinder and Titus with.
Refreshing Anomaly
Refreshing Anomaly had a very big change and went from Tier 3 to Tier 4 in the latest patch. Even if you’re not playing Elementals, getting this guy is very valuable since you get 2 free refreshes with him. Nevertheless, he is basically used for cycling and finding the crucial Elementals, and that’s pretty much it.
Meteorite Crasher
Nothing too much to be said about Meteorite Crasher. As you already guessed, this guy works very well once you start selling and recycling your elementals. He will gain a lot of stats and be the bread and butter of your mid to late game power.
Windfall Tornado
Windfall Tornado a very good value elemental because keep in mind that when you sell him, you will discover an Elemental. The most important part here is that you will “Discover” it, so you can get a crucial Elemental if you’re a tier 5 or tier 6 that can be a game changer for only 2 gold (and also gain a few stats on it).
Tavern Tier 5 Elemental Minions
Amplifying Lightspawn
The monstrosity that wreaked havoc at the beginning of season 10 has been nerfed in the latest patch, but overall, Amplifying Lightspawn remains one of the key minions in Elemental Tribe. Boosting stat boost is still pretty strong, and you should take this guy, especially early on, if you can.
Dancing Barnstormer
Dancing Barnstormer is an interesting one because he works with Bran as well as Titus. There is nothing too much to be said other than that this minion is one of the main engines that can power up your tavern throughout the whole game.
Tavern Tier 6 Elemental Minions
Lokholar, Frostforger
Paired with Drakkari Enchanter, this thing is a beast, especially if you boosted the stat boosts before you got him. Keep in mind that he will boost only your Elementals on the board, not the ones in the Tavern. Still, he is a pretty neat one to have, even after the nerf in the latest patch.
Unleashed Mana Surge
Similarly to Lokholar, who works as an end-of-turn board minion buffs, Unleashed Mana Surge pretty much does the same, just with cycling Elementals. Depending on your economy, your board and the stat buffs increased for Elementals, he can be one of the key minions in the game.
Gentle Djinni
Gentle Djinni, interestingly, has a similar idea behind it as Dancing Barnstormer. His effect is also triggered by Battlecry and Deathrattle. So these two minions can work really well if you either have a Titus or a Brann. With Gentle Djinni you can get a lot of Elementals, and with Dancing Barnstormer you can get a lot of tavern stats. This can propel you into the late game pretty quickly.
Elemental of Surprise
Elemental of Surprise is the second Divine Shield option in the Elemental tribe that you can go for. Getting him alone won’t change much, but considering that Elemental of Surprise is a late-stage minion, you will probably either have a buffed-up board of Elementals or buffed-up Elementals in Tavern (meaning that he will have higher stats). Whatever the case is, tripling, buffing, and providing Divine Shield is a great thing to do, and you should definitely search for this minion.
Tier 7 Elemental Minion
Arcane Behemoth
Arcane Behemoth is an awesome minion to have but only if you are playing the Tavern boost Elementals. If your Elementals in the Tavern are strong, you can simply cycle them, and in a few turns, Arcane Behemoth will have stats in the hundreds.
