The new Dota 2 7.32e Dead Reckoning update is out and the community is furious. Since everybody hyped up the release of 7.33, the last thing that this game needs is a minor patch that does nothing to the game. We know that Dota 2 has had a notorious schedule when releasing new big patches, but this is a whole other level. They kept this bad practice and dissipated a lot of eager Dota 2 fans. This extremely popular game has been stale for a few years with no major changes to the map or the overall flow of the game.

A lot of people feel exactly like Joel from The Last of Us in the picture above. Before 2021, we got to see some big changes in regard to talents, the map, Aghanim shards, and much more. Right now, the game is very “dead” cause of the lack of innovation. Even though it’s still extremely popular, people are slowly losing interest cause Valve just doesn’t want to risk it with the game. Furthermore, the main man behind years of quality patches, Icefrog, has reportedly been off-duty and wasn’t working on Dota 2 patch for the last year or so.
Community Backlash
The hype revolved around the new patch has been ramped up a lot. A lot of popular streamers have been waiting for today’s release with over 30.000 viewers. This just adds salt to the world since people are sick of the current state of the game. They want to experiment and learn new ways of playing the game and watch other people discover different strategies. The Patch 7.33 promised just that and seeing the 7.32e pop up on the screen just had everybody down. The one silver lining here is that since it’s 7.32e, the 7.33 will perhaps be extremely huge to the whole game, but with Valve, we never know.
Big 7.33 Patch In Late April
Mykrhm Reddy has been a good source for the Dota 2 state of affairs, and it’s just underwhelming to see that the new 7.33 Dota 2 patch will be released in late April. Since the next big major is 27 March, it’s possible that will we see the next patch in a bit less than two whole months, which is a lot. The worst thing about this whole release schedule is that the next big major probably wont see the 7.33 patch, and the people will be “forced” to watch the same old stale meta that hasn’t been changed for months or arguably years.

New Hero – Muerta
Even though the new hero seems okay, it’s not what we want to see. It won’t bring any major changes or new aspects in the game, it will just add one more choice, and Dota 2 doesn’t lack the choice of heroes in the current state of the game. What it really lacks is that huge overhaul that people like and are keen to experiment with. The freshness of the meta is one of the key components in Dota 2, and the new hero just doesn’t do it for anybody.
