Leak: Resident Evil 9 is coming out in 2025

A couple of days ago a rumor spread on Reddit that Resident Evil 9 is coming out in 2025; together with a new Resident Evil remake in 2027.  This all started on a Dusk Golem’s discord forum when fans asked him about the next Resident Evil game. Capcom asked in May this year what game they want to see remade next. I truly believe that true fans would like to see Code Veronica more since Resident Evil 5. First of all, Resident Evil 5 isn’t “that old”, but Code Veronica is quite important to the overall story of the series. Another interesting fact is that Resident Evil 5 is the game that changed the series to shooter horror.

Is Resident Evil 9 coming out in 2025?

After werewolves, vampires, and monsters, it’s time to get back to good old zombies – or is it time for something new? Now, how did this “rumor” start? Well, it all started on Discord, and after that, it got on Reddit through a horror leaker called DuskGolem. You can read it yourself, but it just says “Capcom announcing a major title this year, Resident Evil 9 will be released in 2025.” Other Redditors are also talking about the next game that could be announced, such as a Monster Hunter game or who knows. Anyways, it’s all just talk in a game leak and rumors section of Reddit.

Photo Credits: CapcomNow let’s do the math, Resident Evil 6 was released in 2012, Resident Evil 7 was released in 2017, and Resident Evil Village in 2021. So it takes them approximately 4.6 years to make a game, that makes sense if they’ve got the story ready for the next game. Some fans and people from the industry are speculating that it’s a trilogy and that that’ll be the end so that they can reboot the whole franchise, but nobody knows for sure. For the remakes, it’s unclear since it took just 1 year between RE:1 and RE:2 remakes to come out, but it took 3 years between RE:3 and RE:4 remakes.

In conclusion, nobody knows when will the game come out, Dusk Golem is trustworthy, but it’s still just a rumor. We talked about doing the math for previous games but that isn’t trustworthy, well maybe it is since Capcom isn’t Rockstar. Until we see new remakes or at least a new trailer for Resident Evil 9, let’s enjoy Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil Village DLCs.
